Hi, I’m Mark and welcome to Get Finance Wise.
I want to explain why my wife and I decided to start this site, but to do so, it would be best if I first tell you about myself.
I am a registered financial security advisor based in Québec. My career started in the financial industry in 2008 with the desire to help families avoid disasters. Over the years, I have been passionate about increasing my knowledge and services in nearly all aspects of finances.
A few years later, I decided to start helping clients and friends with their income taxes. One big reason for this was that I saw many clients needing to understand the tax system in Canada.
Through this service, I noticed how many clients were being taken advantage of and charged excessive fees for an essential service. Not to mention how incomplete their taxes were, leaving them with less money in their pockets.
At that point, I made it a personal goal to help, guide, and find every penny my clients are entitled to, with a particular focus on the self-employed. All this without overcharging them.
My journey changed course at the end of 2019 when my wife and I decided to start our own insurance firm at the beginning of 2020, right before Covid hit us all and changed how we work.
As a family man and father of 7, my focus has always been helping families, be it avoiding financial disasters, helping families manage money or understanding how money, credit and taxes work here in Canada.
As a tax professional and proud Canadian, I have guided families and individuals interested in starting a business so they can understand the rules and procedures for getting started.
With all that experience behind me and a lot of encouragement from my wife, we started Get Finance Wise.
This website is to help ALL Canadians start to understand the basics. This way, they can begin their process of getting ahead since there are few places where we Canadians can find information.
